Heather Rae El Moussa Breaks the Internet with Fiery Christmas Dress—Fans Are Divided!
Selling Sunset’s Heather Rae El Moussa from HGTV has elegantly put an end to all the negative possibilities of her dressing up for a Christmas event. The 37-year-old, married to another real estate tycoon Tarek El Moussa, is the mother of a 1-year-old boy, Tristan, and the stepmother of two, Taylor 14, and Brayden 9, to Tarek from his initial marriage to Christina Hall.
In Christmas eve, she presented some photos from a holiday which included members of her family and friends. The dress of choice for this event was red and had lace and fishnet detailing and most people on the social media gave her the thumbs up not forgetting those who trolled her as well for the dress.
Mixed Reactions to the Outfit
The crowd did not take time to appreciate Heather’s fashionable dressing. It is evident from one of the fan base that said; ‘I want to grow up to be like Heather!’ She’s so pretty!” One said, “This is what it means to maintain your body and keep earning the sweat”.
However, there were some negative responses also which a few people complained that the dress they wore is ‘inappropriate’ for a mother. Such a comment was left by one user, “Well what did you think of the dress?” Honestly and as a mother of a little boy! Another said, “Wear looks like they are for the bedroom!”
Heather’s Empowering Response
Heather did not make the mistake of avoiding the negativity. She responded directly to one comment, writing: “So because I am a mother I can’t wear that dress that makes me feel like a queen? I am still human and I name is Heather. I’m not just a mother. Choose joy.”
The star used the opportunity to also make a statement on the need to accept and embrace confidence and body shaming. Of course she took a screenshot of the conversation and posted it in her Instagram stories, writing “Comments like this make me laugh. I don’t even swell up when I’m annoyed by other people’s rudeness either. ”I choose to be happy not an angry black woman.”
Shutting Down Comparisons
Heather also got complimented about her dress, as well as a comment that compared her to Tarek’s ex-wife Christina Hall. “She has a type, he has a type; she looks just like Christine,” a user said. Unfazed, humorously the commenter copied Heather, saying, ‘ Her name is Christina.’ Yes, most do have a type; which is followed by a laughing emoji.
Exciting New Projects and A United Front
Heather has been open about the Tarek and Christina Hall, from which she co-parents. Heather told us in a recent interview that the collaborative work that they’ve done together on the upcoming HGTV show The Flip Off has been good, if often competitive.
Heather said they’ve come a long way. ‘Everyone’s in a really nice place right now.’ It’s been stressful getting up to film the show, but we’ve had so many laughs”.
It’s a series that reunites Tarek and Christina on screen and will debut in January. Fans will be pleased by the promise of friendly competition and family collaboration.
